DEARBORN – John and Ronda Errigo, third generation owners of Capri Bakery since 2007, who are closing it Oct. 31 after 53 years, were recognized during the Oct. 20 city council meeting.

The Italian bakery, located at 4832 Greenfield, has served the community since 1973, with homemade Italian baked goods and casual lunch items.

It was founded by the late Virginia and John Errigo. Virginia’s father, Hugo Imperi, founded Detroit’s Roma Bakery.

The bakery had a history characterized by “hard work, family pride, community connection and generations of memories.”

Customers loved the bakery’s Italian bread, pepperoni rolls and pizzas, as well as its pastries, desserts and authentic Italian specialties.
