MELVINDALE — A bus driver for special needs students reported Sept. 18 that multiple drivers were failing to stop for the school bus when it was stationary  to unload children.

She said the reckless driving was occurring at Henry and Coleman streets, and at Hanna and Gough streets, between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m. on school days. She said she was worried that a child could get hit by a vehicle ignoring the bus stop sign and warning lights.

Police officers will be assigned to the area to watch for and ticket violators.
