WYANDOTTE — A speeding motorcyclist who tried to flee before deciding to stop for pursuing police officers added resisting arrest to his charges when he didn’t want to have his motorcycle impounded.
The man, who was speeding southbound on Fort Street, was spotted maneuvering around another vehicle. When a police officer ran his license plate, it was determined that he did not have a motorcycle endorsement or permit.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the man initially tried to flee, and accelerated to more than 60 MPH.
He eventually pulled into a parking lot, but he refused to get off his motorcycle. After struggling with the police officers, he was tasered, taken to the ground and handcuffed.
His motorcycle was impounded, and his citations included speeding, no motorcycle endorsement or permit, ignoring emergency lights, and resisting arrest.
