HEIGHTS — A tip jar containing about $48 in cash was reported stolen the afternoon of July 15 from the Hotdog Depot food truck at 25451 Michigan Avenue.

The victim said a man walked up to the stand and asked for a bottle of water, and when he turned to retrieve it from the cooler, the man grabbed the tip jar, said “thanks,” and ran off through the parking lot.

Surveillance video of the incident reveals that the thief was 30 to 40 years old and a light-complected Black man wearing a white shirt, orange basketball shorts, a blue Detroit hat and white Nike shoes. He also had tattoos on both arms.
