RIVERVIEW — A 55-year-old Riverview man who was having mechanical trouble with his pickup July 2 near Sibley Road and Fort Street was recognized by a passing police officer as having a revoked driver’s license.

When the man got his pickup started and began to drive off, the officer initiated a traffic stop. The man insisted that he had a valid Arizona driver’s license, but a record check revealed that  his Michigan driver’s license was revoked.

The man also had two valid arrest warrants out of Flat Rock, and a Flat Rock police officer arranged to meet the Riverview police officer and take the man into custody.

The man was cited for driving with a suspended license, and his pickup was impounded and towed.
