TAYLOR — A man reported June 25 that his electronic benefit transfer card, which had been credited with $298 on June 21, had been emptied by an unauthorized person.

He learned that six transactions at a local Walmart were attempted and rejected, then the card was used at a Detroit Dollar General store, during which the balance was depleted.

He was advised to file a report with the Detroit police department, and was given a case number to pursue an investigation with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
