DEARBORN HEIGHTS — A man who stole two bags of Funyuns onion-flavored cornmeal snacks, a bag of beef jerky and a Gatorade the afternoon of June 24 was cited for retail fraud and banned from the store.

An employee at Marathon, 25569 Michigan Ave., described the shoplifter as a light-skinned male wearing a red hoodie and a backpack, and said he was last seen walking toward Huntington Bank and the Dearborn Heights Police Department.

Police officers searched the area, and found the man, who threw the stolen items onto the ground. He was identified as the shoplifter by store employees.

The man was warned that if he returned to the store he would be arrested.
