SOUTHGATE — A domestic disturbance between a man and a woman who were fighting in a front yard over a pistol the morning of June 14 in the 14000 block of Flanders Street evolved into an armed stand-off when the man retreated in the residence with the firearm.

The man refused to surrender to Southgate police officers, so Downriver SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team were called to the scene, and they were soon able to get the man to surrender without incident.

He was taken into custody, and the case will be reviewed by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office for a charging decision.
