DEARBORN — A Dearborn teen’s gray 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee was impounded the night of April 2 after he was measured driving 93 mph in a 45-mph zone on eastbound Michigan Avenue east of the Southfield Freeway.

Because of the young man’s interaction with the police officers, they believed that a citation alone would not deter repeat offenses, so they had the vehicle impounded and towed.

The driver, a minor, was also illegally in possession of a nicotine vape.

He was advised to contact 19th District Court for an appearance date.
