DEARBORN — Emmanuel Lutheran School will host a fundraiser for the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit in honor of a student with Stage IV cancer now being cancer free.
The “Grand Tour” will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. May 8 at the school, 22425 Morley Ave. Students from the school will be biking (preschool and kindergarten), walking (grades 1 to 3) and jogging (grades 4 to 8) in the parking lot, around the school and church buildings, and around the school block to raise money for the Ann Arbor hospital.
A student who was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer at the beginning of the current school year received treatment at Mott throughout the year. She is now cancer free, with receiving only treatments to clear any small cancer cells.
Money raised will be given to the hospital to purchase craft items, books and toys for the cancer unit.
