RIVERVIEW — A 26-year-old Riverview man was arrested the morning of April 10 for operating under the influence of alcohol after he and his white 2020 Ford Fusion were found in a ditch between two U-turn lanes on Fort Street near Greentrees Street.

The man said he was on his way to work when his vehicle slid sideways near the U-turn lanes.

He failed standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.181, more than twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.

His vehicle was impounded and towed, and he was taken into custody. He was cited for operating while impaired with a high blood-alcohol content, and his driver’s license was confiscated and destroyed.
