SOUTHGATE — An alarm at a residence in the 13000 block of Edison Street triggered a police response to a vacant house at the owner’s request.

A screen on a bedroom window on the north side of the house was open, and an interior bedroom door was locked that should not have been secured from the inside. With the owner’s permission, a police officer kicked the door open. No people nor signs of foul play were discovered.
