TRENTON — A woman reported Feb. 13 that a Feb. 9 email requesting verification of personal information was likely a fraudulent scheme that used the information to withdraw money from her bank accounts.
She said that on Feb. 12 she discovered that $7,500 had been withdrawn from her Bank of America accounts without authorization.
The woman said the accounts were frozen, new account numbers were issued, and Bank of America initiated a fraud investigation and said the stolen funds would be reimbursed.
