ALLEN PARK — A Detroit woman reported that a tow truck driver disappeared with her black Volkswagen Jetta, and repeated calls the company were being ignored, so her insurance company told her to report the vehicle as stolen.

The car was originally left at an auto care franchise in Allen Park, but her insurance allowed her to have the vehicle towed to a Detroit location of the repair franchise closer to her residence. However, the Detroit repair shop location called her and told her that the tow truck driver arrived and refused to leave the car there, then left with it the car still attached to the tow truck.

The owner of the car said all her calls to the tow company go straight to voicemail and she has been unable to reach anyone at the business.
