HEIGHTS — A stranger was found parked in a residential driveway in the 25000 block of Amherst Street the night of Dec. 26 with drug paraphernalia.

The man claimed he had gone to the location to buy a tablet, but he had no money on him with which to make a purchase.

The man had two outstanding warrants with 20th District Court in Dearborn Heights.

He was searched and secured in the back of a patrol car while his vehicle was searched, during which drug paraphernalia, including a silver cylindrical keychain with white powder residue, a silver socket wrench and a copper wire ball, both with burnt residue, were discovered.

The man then said that he was experiencing withdrawal symptoms, so he was transferred to Corewell Health Hospital in Taylor for treatment.
