HEIGHTS — The glass door of the Park Forest Apartments leasing office, 23810 W. Warren Ave., was smashed the night of Dec. 21, with a witness seeing two men entering the building and leaving with a computer monitor.

A large rock appeared to have been used to smash the door glass.

The witness, who watched from a nearby bus stop, said the two men, who wore ski masks, parked at the nearby Custard Company.

An apartment complex manager then arrived on the scene and allowed the police officers to review the poor-quality camera footage.

A police K-9 officer from Westland arrived on scene, but the track ended at the Custard Company parking lot.

The Custard Company had good surveillance cameras in its parking lot, but several days after the break-in had still not provided footage to police department personnel, so the case was closed for lack of evidence.
