RIVERVIEW — A 43-year-old Inkster man was arrested for operating while impaired following a traffic stop initiated after he was seen traveling in the westbound lane and on the yellow dividing line while driving east on Sibley Road near Fort Street.

The man, who was driving a red 2015 Ford Taurus, said he had been at a bar in Taylor where he had consumed shots of liquor. His speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot and glossy, and he smelled of intoxicants.

The man failed standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20, two-and-a-half times the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.

The man was taken into custody, and his car was impounded and towed.
