RIVERVIEW — A 32-year-old Taylor man was arrested carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop for an expired license plate and not having vehicle insurance.

The man, who was driving a blue Buick Encore on Pennsylvania Road, provided his license and admitted the vehicle was uninsured.

A tow truck was summoned, and when a police officer searched the vehicle, he found a black 9-millimeter Taurus PT111 G2 pistol in a vehicle storage pocket, which was determined to be registered to the driver. The police officer’s discovery of the gun led to the man’s arrest for carrying a concealed weapon.
