RIVERVIEW — A 70-year-old Detroit man who was subject to a traffic stop for speeding the afternoon of Nov. 17 on Sibley Road admitted that his driver’s license was suspended and he was only driving because his passenger had recently had surgery and had asked for his assistance.
The vehicle was registered to the passenger, whose driver’s license was valid.
The driver did have active traffic warrants with local agencies, who asked that he be advised and released.
The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was advised to trade places with his passenger and was released at the scene.
