HEIGHTS — A counterfeit $100 bill was turned over to a police officer after a man attempted to use it the night of Oct. 27 to pay for his meal at a local restaurant.

The man, who was wearing a dark hoodie, left the restaurant when the cashier challenged the validity of the $100 bill. The restaurant indicated that it did not want to pursue charges against the man.
