RIVERVIEW — Following a two-vehicle crash on Fort Street the afternoon of Oct. 27, a 33-year-old Wyandotte man was taken into custody for operating under the influence of drugs.

The man, who crashed into the vehicle in front of him, was nervous and unable to find his registration or insurance paperwork. His speech was slurred, and he failed standardized field sobriety tests. However, a preliminary breath test did not indicate the presence of alcohol.

His vehicle was impounded and towed, and he was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, after which he was transported to the police station, where he was held.
