SOUTHGATE — A homeless man huddled in a sleeping bag outside CVS Pharmacy, 13545 Eureka Road, on the morning of Nov. 2 was told by a police officer to leave the location, which was private property, after attempts to find him a space in a homeless shelter were unsuccessful.

The man said he did not need medical or police services and declined a ride to another location. He was urged to go to the police station the next day during business hours if he wanted help connecting with the Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, which helps at-risk people in southeast Michigan.
