DEARBORN — A Detroit man who was speeding at 12:02 p.m. June 6 in a rented Corvette on Michigan Avenue near Schaefer Road decided to make an illegal U-turn and run a red light, then pass other cars in the left turn lane within full view of Police Chief Issa Shahin.

The man was also talking on his cell phone while driving.
