TAYLOR — A 29-year-old Indianapolis man who was driving 104 mph on westbound I-94 at 3:50 a.m. June 1 was arrested for operating while impaired, refusing a preliminary breath test and for speeding in excess of 31-mph over the limit.
The man, who smelled of intoxicants, admitted to drinking earlier. His eyes were glossy, and he failed standardized field sobriety tests.
He refused to submit to a preliminary breath test in the field.
His silver 2026 Mercedes was impounded and towed.
Later, at the police station, he submitted to two preliminary breath tests, and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.111 and 0.114, which was higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
