TRENTON – Eight firefighters were recognized with Cardiac Arrest Lifesaving Awards during the May 19 City Council meeting.
The honorees, who were recognized by Fire Chief Keith Anderson and Deputy Fire Chief and Emergency Medical Services Coordinator Jason Martyniak, were firefighter/paramedics Jacob Ficken, Jeff Glowacki, Mark Gray, Chris Green, Josh Hodge, Jacob Robbins, Josh Roberts and Cole Twydell.
The recognitions stem from two separate cardiac calls that resulted in lifesaving outcomes as a result of the paramedics’ rapid assessment, clinical expertise and professionalism during cardiopulmonary resuscitation events.
The awards recognize the honorees’ outstanding work and highlight the critical role they perform in saving lives.
During the past two years, the Fire Department has exceeded Michigan’s average survival rate on cardiac calls.
