TRENTON — When police officers were summoned to Diva Nails Spa, 3500 West Road, the night of March 25 because a customer refused to pay for a pedicure and manicure, they found a woman without means to pay for the services who was also unable to maintain a coherent conversation.

The woman didn’t know where she was, or how she arrived at the salon.

When her identification was run through the Law Enforcement Information Network, she was found to have an active warrant out of Taylor, and three mentions in her record of mental health situations.

She was taken to Corewell Health Hospital in Trenton, where she was evaluated. Staff said she appeared to be acting “normally” and would be discharged.

Two hours later, the hospital called police officers to have the woman removed from the front of the hospital, where she was allegedly causing problems. By the time police officers arrived, the woman had left the area, but was later found walking along Jackson Road.

The woman was then offered a ride home to Ecorse, which she accepted.
