RIVERVIEW — A 31-year-old Grosse Pointe Township man in a black 2024 Tesla Model Y was arrested at 1:24 a.m. April 19 for operating under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop for speeding on Sibley Road.

The man, who smelled of intoxicants, had glossy and watery eyes, and admitted to having had “a couple of beers.”

He failed numerous standardized field sobriety tests.

A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.157, almost twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.

He was taken into custody, and his vehicle was impounded and towed.
