DEARBORN – A lucky feeling led a Wayne County woman to winning a $500,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s 50X Wild Time instant game.

“I went to the gas station with $15 in my pocket and had a good feeling about the number 13, so I asked the worker for one of the tickets in the bin labeled 13,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “She handed me a 50X Wild Time ticket and I won $15, so I bought another. I almost had a heart attack when I thought I’d won $50,000, then I put on my glasses and realized I’d actually won $500,000!

“I have been dreaming of winning a prize like this for a long time. I am incredibly happy and excited.”

The 52-year-old player bought her winning ticket at Nick’s Petroleum, 10005 W. Warren Ave. She visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to buy a house, start a small business, and plan a good future for her children.

Players have won more than $62 million playing 50X Wild Time which launched in February 2024. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $500,000. More than $29 million in prizes remain, including one $500,000 top prize, 59 $10,000 prizes, and 110 $1,000 prizes.

In 2024, Lottery players won nearly $1.8 billion playing instant games.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at retailers across the state.
