RIVERVIEW — A traffic stop for a moving violation on Fort Street near Pennsylvania Road the night of March 20 resulted in the arrest of a passenger for an active arrest warrant.

The driver, a 53-year-old Woodhaven man, had disobeyed a “left lane must turn left” sign on southbound Fort Street. His driver’s license had been canceled, and he had a warrant in Lincoln Park for heroin possession and in Taylor for a misdemeanor traffic warrant. He was warned about the warrants and released.

A male passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant with Riverview for failure to appear, and was taken into custody. After booking, he was released on personal bond and advised to make it to his next court date.

The vehicle was impounded and towed.
