RIVERVIEW — A 33-year-old Detroit woman with an unrestrained 6-year-old boy in the back seat of a white sport utility vehicle left the scene of a crash at Pennsylvania and Grange roads on Feb. 28 that was witnessed by an off-duty Southgate police officer.

The woman was located and stopped at Pennsylvania and Fort Street. She refused to cooperate with standardized field sobriety tests. A half-full canned margarita drink was found in the car.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, and the boy was picked up by a relative.
