WYANDOTTE — A 23-year-old Detroit man was arrested the night of Feb. 12 after a 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor he stole from a shipping yard on Vreeland Road in Woodhaven crashed in Detroit following a police chase.

Wyandotte Police Officers Morgen Gardocki and Tyler Groat, in separate police cars, spotted the stolen vehicle, which refused to yield to a traffic stop, and pursued it through Wyandotte, Lincoln Park, River Rouge and Detroit, where the driver crashed it into a concrete barrier near the Dix Avenue service drive and Industrial Road.

The driver then tried to flee on foot, but was captured by the pursuing officers.

Wyandotte Police Chief Archie Hamilton said he is extremely proud of his officers, whom he said did “an outstanding job.”

“The relentless pursuit of this criminal removed a dangerous felon from our streets,” he said.
