TRENTON — A woman who thought she had been hired to work for Dare Foods reported Jan. 28 that a check she was given to purchase products through “approved vendors” for her new job bounced, and she was responsible for the $1,500 of the $3,800 spent from the original check.

After checking with Dare Foods, the woman discovered that while the human resource employee names were accurate, the email addresses were fraudulent.

The woman said she was working with her bank to dispute the transactions, and was told to file a police report.

She forwarded the messages sent between her and the fraudster to the police detective bureau.
