RIVERVIEW — A 45-year-old Chesterfield Township woman who was subject to a traffic stop the night of Jan. 20 for speeding on Sibley Road was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

The woman, who was driving 53 mph in a 35-mph zone, smelled of intoxicants, had poor fine motor skills and struggled to find her license and the paperwork for the vehicle.

She failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a preliminary breath test.

She was taken into custody and a search warrant was obtained for a blood draw, which was conducted at a nearby hospital, after which she was booked and held. Her vehicle was impounded and towed.
