TRENTON — A person working at the Solutia demolition site at 5100 Jefferson Avenue reported Nov. 21 that the fence surrounding the property was being destroyed to allow scrappers to access the area to steal copper wiring.

The complainant showed a police officer a cart with 500 to 1,000 pounds of copper wire near the rear of the property. He said they had recently paid a fence company $2,000 to repair the damage to barrier.

Fraudulent withdrawals from Social Security debit card

A man reported Nov. 22 that $1,201 was withdrawn from his Direct Express Social Security debit card without his consent.

He said that on Nov. 1 and 2 three unauthorized withdrawals occurred at an ATM in Memphis, Tenn.

The victim said his old card was canceled and a new one was issued to him, and his money would be reimbursed after he filed a police report and submitted the report number to the fraud department.
