RIVERVIEW — A 33-year-old South Rockwood woman was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and refusing to take a preliminary breath test at 4:36 a.m. Nov. 24 after a patrol officer saw her driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Fort Street near Colvin Street.

The woman, who had slurred speech and glossy eyes, said she had two drinks two hours earlier.

She was able to recite the alphabet and count backwards, but was unable to complete physical standardized field sobriety tests.

The woman repeatedly refused to consent to a preliminary breath test, so a search warrant was obtained for a blood draw, which was completed at a local hospital.

Her vehicle was impounded and towed, and following the blood draw she was returned to the police station where she was held.
