HEIGHTS – Treasurer Lisa Hicks-Clayton announced that the city is pairing with Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency to help residents connect with needed resources by sponsoring a year-end Customer Assistance Day.

The event, which will run from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at Caroline Kennedy Library, 24590 George St., will help residents connect with resources to help pay water and utility bills, with weatherization programs, and to connect with Head Start, Early Start and after school programs.

While walk-ins will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, appointments may be made through the Connect Center at 313-388-9799.

Those attending should bring identity documents for all household members age 18 and older, and proof of 30 days of income for all adult household members.

Utility and water bills should also be provided, as well as documentation of one’s lease or deed, as well as valid State Emergency Relief documents for utilities if applicable.

Representatives from Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabree’s office will be present to address delinquent tax assistance and home foreclosure prevention.

American Credit Counselors will be in attendance, as will Dearborn Heights Community Economic Development Department representatives to discuss the residential rehabilitation program.
