WYANDOTTE — A 46-year-old Redford Township man and a 34-year-old Lincoln Park man were arrested at 6:41 p.m. Sept. 10 at 2nd and Baumey streets with a U-Haul truck containing $1,700 worth of stolen goods.

Police officers were called to the area because of the suspicious behavior of the two men, who were unable to offer an explanation for their presence in the area.

Further investigation revealed goods stolen from a nearby retail outlet in the back of the truck.

Both men had lengthy criminal histories.

Police Chief Archie Hamilton said the two long-time criminals were likely out shopping for more things to steal.

“The vigilant citizen who called the police and the officers who completed a thorough investigation prevented a crime spree,” he said.
