RIVERVIEW – The Fire Department received an $84,726 bequest from the estate of the resident Mary McComb to purchase or maintain equipment, which was accepted at the Oct. 7 City Council meeting.

Fire Chief Glenn Owens said he has been looking at the department’s supplies and equipment, and is meeting with some sales representatives next week.

“I will have a state-of-the-department analysis to see exactly where we are at,” he said. “Going forward, I know vehicles, equipment and things like that are definitely in the future.”
