WYANDOTTE — A 55-year-old Melvindale man was cited for driving with a suspended license and for possession of drug paraphernalia the morning of Sept. 17 on Fort Street near Orchard Street after a police officer saw him slam on the brakes without cause.

The man said he was having mechanical problems with his vehicle’s brakes. However, it was soon discovered that his driver’s license was suspended, his vehicle was uninsured, and he was in possession of straws, razor blades and spoons with cocaine residue.
