RIVERVIEW — A 34-year-old Romulus woman who was found to be at fault in a two-vehicle crash on Sibley Road near Grange Road was taken into custody the afternoon of Sept. 16 for operating with a high blood-alcohol content.
The woman also had her two young daughters in her vehicle at the time.
She was slurring her words, had glossy eyes, was unsteady on her feet and failed standardized field sobriety tests.
A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.326, more than four times the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
The girls’ grandmother was called to pick them up, the woman was taken into custody, and her vehicle was impounded and towed.
The incident of the children being in the car while their mother was drunk was reported to Child Protective Services.
