MELVINDALE — An employee of Dollar General, 3580 Oakwood Blvd., reported the night of Aug. 28 that a woman who entered the store with four children paid for her items, but did not prevent the children from leaving the store with the items they selected, a contention that was confirmed by surveillance camera footage.

The employee said the children took a Nerf gun and other items with an estimated $50 value.

He also provided the license plate number of the woman’s vehicle, which was registered to a person who matched the description given by the employee.

The employee said he did not wish to press charges, but wanted the woman and the children to be banned from the store.
