TAYLOR — A 44-year-old woman living with her young son in the 15300 block of Wendy Drive summoned police officers the morning of July 12 when her ex-boyfriend, her child’s father, broke into her residence, yelled at her and assaulted her.
The man, a 46-year-old Taylor resident, fled before police officers arrived.
The woman said she was awoken by her ex, who allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked window. He accused her of promiscuity with men in the neighborhood, then punched her in the face while she was holding their son. He left when he heard her call for police assistance.
The woman was offered counseling from a domestic abuse hotline, but declined to speak to an advocate.
The man has an injunctive order barring him from contacting his ex, he has a warrant for aggravated assault and for a family strong arm offense.
Police officers have responded to the location multiple times in the past for domestic violence assaults and court order violations.
The incident was reported to Child Protective Services.
Photos of the woman’s bruises and video footage from the day of the break-in and assault were forwarded to the police detective bureau.
