DEARBORN — A Dearborn senior made screen prints and reported an unsuccessful computer con attempt July 31 to police officials.

A suspicious email informed him that a Trojan Horse virus had been maliciously installed on his computer, and said it was because he had visited sites with explicit content. The sender demanded he pay $500 in Bitcoin funds, and if he did not, all his email contacts would be told of his online activity.

The complainant said he did not send the person money or click on any unknown links. He said he ran a virus scan on his computer and did not detect any problems. He said he was filing a police report to inform law enforcement of the attempted scam.
