RIVERVIEW — A 24-year-old Southgate woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated the night of Aug. 11 after a traffic stop for speeding on Pennsylvania Road near Kennebec Street.
The woman, who emanated an odor of alcohol, admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day.
She passed some of the standardized field sobriety tests but was unable to accurately recite the alphabet and failed a horizontal gaze nystagmus test.
A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.141, higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
Her vehicle was impounded and towed, and she was taken into custody. The police officer’s body-worn camera and in-car video footage was saved and taken into evidence.
