RIVERVIEW — A 69-year-old Wyandotte man was arrested the night of Aug. 5 for his third drunken driving arrest after a police officer saw him disregard a stop sign at Pennsylvania Road and Electric Avenue.
When stopped, the man’s eyes were observed to be bloodshot and his speech was slurred, he had trouble finding his registration and proof of insurance, and he offered his voter registration card instead.
The man failed standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.128, higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
His vehicle was impounded and towed, and a temporary license plate was issued.
The man was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw prior to being held in a jail cell. Police body cam and in-car footage were taken into evidence.
