HEIGHTS — A senior couple reported July 19 that they were scammed on July 17 by a con artist who told them their Netflix account was being suspended due to misuse by seven people who likely hacked the woman’s smart phone.
The couple were told to buy a total of $590 in gift cards and to read the numbers to the caller to clear their account charges.
When the couple realized two days later that they had been scammed, they reported the incident to police officers.
