SOUTHGATE — Five counterfeit $100 bills were redeemed at Walmart,14900 Dix-Toledo Road, the evening of July 29 to purchase electronic goods.
The funny money was not detected until the employee cashed out her drawer at the end of her shift. The bills had a sand-like texture and a yellow, creamy tint. They also all had the same serial number.
The cashier said the person who passed the bills was a 6-foot-tall man wearing a red and white jersey and a red hat.
