TAYLOR — A 33-year-old Taylor woman was caught attempting to shoplift 17 items of children’s clothing, collectively valued at $364, that she had attempted to hide in her purse the afternoon of April 14 at JCPenney, 23000 Eureka Road.

Loss prevention personnel stopped her in the parking lot and walked her back into the store, where the stolen merchandise was recovered.

The woman has been banned from JCPenney and Southland Mall. Because she had a child with her, she was not taken into custody. She was advised to contact 23rd District Court for an appearance date.
