TRENTON — A man reported April 3 that an unauthorized person had withdrawn $5,400 on April 2 from his bank account using a fraudulent check.

He said he was told that the transaction occurred at an Atlanta bank. The authorizing bank teller said that the person initiating the transaction had valid identification.

The victim said he did not know anyone in Georgia, and he had initiated a fraud claim with his bank, where he had been issued a new account number. He was also provided with an identity theft packet.
