TRENTON — A man reported that a con artist went to his financial institution in person March 26 and tried to withdraw $6,000 from his checking account and $5,500 from his savings account to allegedly cover expenses for a wedding and a funeral.

However, a bank teller called the actual account holder, and was able to block the fraudulent withdrawal.

He said the bank would release surveillance camera footage once he filed a police report.

The man was advised to monitor his other personal accounts.
